Ari’s southern kitchen
Students were to design a menu based on an album or television show. It was important to accurately display the southern comfort feel of Ari Lennox’s Shea Butter Baby album, on which the menu is based on.
Art Direction
Ari's Southern Kitchen is located in D.C. and rooted in the famous southern cooking that came out of the U.S. capital. Ari Lennox's album Shea Butter Baby, which is the inspiration behind the restaurant, is filled with vivid sound and and southern comfort.

Typography
Implementation
The goal was to create a welcoming brand identity that was rooted in its southern heritage. The color pallet played off the warm tones in the cover of the Shea Butter Baby album. The typography paired a cursive script to mimic the hand writing on Aunt Ari and simple san serif font to anchor the reader when reading the item description. Song titles were used as inspiration for menu items.
